A Little Trivial History

In elementary school my art teacher pulled me to the side and said, "I should not say this to you. You are one of the good students aren't you? The other teachers will be angry for talking to you about this, but have you considered becoming an artist when you are older?" She felt I had talent, but my academic achievement put me on a different path.

After some bumps and bruises to my academic career, basically caused by being a teenager, I proceeded to follow the path I felt was destined for me, pure science: Mathematical Physics. I graduated Summa Cum Laude in Biophysics from the local University in Buffalo NY (SUNYAB). On hindsight I would have been better served with an educational background in engineering or even vocational school, however engineers and technicians do not have the passion good scientists and artists have. But my desire to learn how the Universe works has served me in countless ways. Even now I study the underlying structure of everything around me to decipher the patterns and create my own.

Sometime in the 90's I met John Healey and was seduced by his curiosity and ambition that equaled mine. I found myself more interested in his work and developing and adapting technology to artistic uses than where my own path was leading me. Also I realized that success in the path I was taking was as likely to lead to a new super weapon as to lead to a cure for some disease, so I changed paths. A mad artist is much safer than a mad scientist. Thereafter I was set back on the correct path that my wise teacher foresaw so many many years ago.
